transnational cooperation
programmes offer support
to the institutions and
organizations in border areas of neighbouring
countries with the aim of promoting
cooperation, solving common challenges and
improving life in frequently underdeveloped
and inaccessible areas. Serbia participated
in this collaboration for the first time in 2004
through Neighbour Programmes, funded
through CARDS programme, and since 2007
through a different aid instrument IPA.
Office for European Integration of the
Republic of Serbia, through the Sector for
Cross-Border and Transnational Cooperation,
conducts programmes in cooperation with the
EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia and
governments of countries which participate in
them. The interest of the Serbian institutions
for participation in cross-border and
transnational collaboration is great and
constantly on the rise, and by the end of 2013,
over 580 projects were contracted and funded
at the territory of Serbia.
Programme South East Europe is one of
the most diversified and complex transnational
cooperation programmes in Europe. Sixteen

Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary,
Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Albania,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Macedonia),
